About that time, I was doing some post-graduate work and I needed a thesis topic. And there it was! Foods contain unique nutrients that affect specific diseases. I saw an opportunity to pursue my love of science… and better yet, combine it with another lifelong passion… cooking! A lot has happened in the years since then. There have been exciting developments (like the book deals with McGraw Hill and an offer to do a TV show) and disappointing setbacks (like a last-minute denial from the National Cancer Institute for a grant and the challenge of funding the project on my own).
